She went as a High School Musical cheerleader. We went trick-or-treating at Eastside Marketplace, a local mall, the Palouse Mall, Theophilus Tower, dorms on UI campus, and around the neighborhood where we live. Abby ended up with a lot of candy. We got almost a foot of snow on Sunday Jan 27, then six more inches on Monday, seven inches on Tuesday and another foot on Thursday. School was canceled four days that week and even the UI closed on Thursday and Friday for the first time in a long time. The kindergarten classrooms at Abby's school are actually located in the Education building at the University, so the kids come to the school and then get on a bus there for the ride to the kindergarten classrooms. The first set of pictures we took at a replica Stonehenge in Washington, near the Tri-Cities. It was built as a memorial to soldiers in WWI. It was really windy, but it was a lot of fun anyway. While we were there a brush fire started a few miles to the north of the park and the rural fire department came out to fight it. They refilled their tanker trucks at the fire hydrant at the park, so the kids had a chance to see the fire trucks and talk to the firefighters, who were really friendly while they waited for their trucks to fill up.
